Intern participants will devote a minimum of five hours each week for the duration of the semester working on history projects defined by DBWTA and NTSP.
Two interns, Megan Akers and Megan Herron, have accepted the DBWTA/NTSP intern assignments. Ms. Akers selected as her project, “Prepare a portfolio of educational materials covering SWVA 1750 – 1800 that is suitable for use in public schools and meets VA SOL criteria.” Ms. Herron selected as her project, “Prepare a paper on the subject, “How today’s culture/society in Southwest Virginia is is a product of those who came here between 1750 – 1800.” “
Project advisors, Megan France, NTSP and Bob McConnell, DBWTA will provide oversight and assistance for the interns. DBWTA will provide project supplies as needed by the interns. All documents produced as a result of these projects become the property of the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail Association.
